My I-140 was filed electronically and then it was transferred over to TSC for processing.
Our company attorney filed my AoS package with NSC based on the job location. Still waiting for the receipts.

I called my attorney today to inquire about this and he told me that one-third to one-fourth of the applications that he has filed in July are yet to receive the FP notices and he asked me not to worry about it.
Hope he is true and that we will be getting the FP notices soon.

Why SKULL bill ? As a high level manager I have learned after years of experience that you need to use good sense of humor, satirize when confronted with insanities and very stressful situations.

I understand the pain you are going through... but we do not want to sound pissed! Just a simple best wishes will put our message through (if done by enough people). It burns no bridges... and it can attract the media... we want to shame them not ourselves!
We dont want the morons to think we are appreciating their work. If we are not clear in our message it doesnt make sense to send the flowers. Its not going to burn any bridges in my opinion. There was no bridge in the first place :):D

Funny... Sathweb took his post back, which even he does not agree with anymore and you now agree with it..
Point is very simple: If a person has a valid job offer then by all means go ahead and apply for H1 from any status (be it H4, F1, B or Z...) but if you don't have a proper job offer then please don't apply for the H1 visa through a body shop as you are taking away a valuable visa #, which unfortunately are very limited.

What wrong he did? Nothing illegal but certainly not the best practise. Atleast he has been insensitive to his former employer.
what in the world makes this insensitive. h1b employees are not the bonding labours to the employers. If the employee leaves the company within 2 or 3 month after all the pain company had taken like spending for h1b filing training or providing placement, then that would be insensitive. After 2 yrs of serving, if the employee wants to look out for something better, employer shud make the exit smooter. And some else said earlier that its only employees who force employers for GC. i do not think so. If u see any advertisements posted by desi employers, the packages come along with GC process. they highlight GC point to attract the employees. yes it is true that most of the employees look out for GC for settlement. but that doesn't mean they force their employers who are not ready to do it. they might choose someone who offered GC process as a part of the package they r offered in the first. in such cases the chances of employers who do not offer GC process to get h1b's drop down drastically. thats the reason they offer GC.
Also GC makes long term commitment between an employer and an employee.

I also think green card lottery, chain immigration, and refugee green cards should be eliminated and those visa numbers should be used for employment based immigrants because all these people can immigrate just like us through employment. We contribute more to the American society and should be given priority. I guess when we become American someday, we would like immigrants who contribute to our community too. Isn't that right? :)

Answer to question 1: Yes you can, but make sure that at least on paper the job responsibilities remain the same as the job for which your present employer sponsored your GC. The designation can be anything.
Answer to question 2: USCIS is not very clear on the percentage increase/decrease in salary that a person should draw in a new job from the job which sponsored the GC. However, it says, that there should not be a huge disparity between the two. Looking at the figures that you provided, it looks like a huge disparity. I am pretty sure that the "bonus" in your first job was not accounted for in the salary which was mentioned in the LC by your sponsor. Even if they did, the difference seems to be huge. If it is possible, ask the BIG employer to offer you the same amount of 65K as salary and the rest as "bonus".

Can I accept the 'offer' based on the above points and use my EAD?

I agree with kshitijnt that you need past employer more than you need client. In my case I had received 485 query to supply some my employment related docs ( whether that I am working with responser or working with someone else, letter from company showing my current position,sal. etc). Since I didn't change my employer, it was very easy and quick to get such documents from current employer. Imagine if I would have switched on EAD then I would have to chase my past employer for letters, paystubs etc and by the I would got them from past employer,I faced the risk of PD moving back.
Your case is different becasue you filed your I-485 with them. Here he has not started 485 at all.I don't know how he can maintain good relation with them. Some employer are too torugh to deal and same goes with some employees too.

8/19/2008(Monday) 9 PM: Got "Card production Ordered" Email.
