And I know a guy (a restaurant waiter from Nepal) got his GC in frikkin 14 months. And this was 5 years ago when I had just applied and now even today mine is still pending and that Nepali waiter who could not speak 4 words in English is now a Citizen and whenever I go to this restaurant for a buffet he keeps laughing at me and he is still a waiter in the same restaurant. I know him for 6 years. I get enraged at this countrys immigration policy. And I have met about 5 cabbies (Somalia, Pakistan, Sudan) etc etc who came here by winning visa lottery. And they are all citizens or GC holders. This is a mockery. This country has finally started to SUCK big time.
what makes you think you are more important to american society than the waiter or the cabbies? we all come to US under full disclosure but a hope that by the time our turn at GC (and Citizenship for those who care) comes - the queues would have shortened or the rules would have changed in our favor and we wont have to wait for so long......

Totally agree.. Can you tell which law has been broken by them.
They didnt break a single law.
USCIS broke a law last month by not accepting the EB3 Other workers, even when the bulletin said that the numbers were avaible.
But this time , they just did something morally wrong ( that 2 i am not sure, based upon what i have read so far, which are more or less speculations)
DOS updated the bulletin , for which they have full legal rights,
and USCIS just follwed it, No Law was broken,atleast i cant see, which law was broken.
If you go for a lawsuit , you would get those damages back, but as i said USCIS being a fees funded organisation, its will come back to you.

Interesting... looks like they set up some kind of automatic system ... I got an email as well for "Card production ordered" for me and my spouse a few minutes back... unfortunately it is not for GC but EAD...

Holy cow... I cannot believe, I got my green card today...
My online case status changed to card production ordered today (1 hour ago).
I had filed during july fiasco and was not abel to send my medical tests , so had got RFE.
Then i took the medicals and sent the response in july 2009, and the status remained RFE response received for a long time.
I called NSC and opened a service request on Aug 18.
Guys believe me Service Request does miracles, they just approved it now.
So my journey came to an end after 7 years.
If I got green card, the whole credit goes to IV. You guys are really great, learnt a lot from this forum. Kudos to you all...
I will continue to visit these forums and help as much as I can.

I am in same situation who has sept 10th ND from TSC , no FP for me or my wife. I did open a SR and i got a response letter saying that either your FP has expired or clearance has not been received.. will send one by mail soon.
It has already been 45 days since the letter was dated. NO FP nothing.
Has going to IO helped anybody is getting a FP notice? That seems my last resort.
If its TSC then I do not think it will help at all. Whenever I talk to IO their only response if they are waiting for availability at local ASC.
So TSC people are out of luck.

Brother your assumption is flawed if someone come under reservation category they get their guaranteed reservation seat (on their merit basis in that class) if reservation % is fulfilled as per rule then their application goes to open category. That means 50% resources is for everyone in India.
This was happened few years back to get admission in one of top Medical school after scoring more than 92% was not able to get to desired top medical school but one of his friend who had just scored 58% was able to get in top notch medical school. Now this remind me similar situation what was happened 50 years before. Now making matter worst student who had got 92% was belonging to very middle class or you can say poor family but his friend was belonging to class one gazetted officer�s family (I would classify them upper middle class).
I think reservation was required in past to up-lift backward class and give them justice in system but now situation is change drastically we see people from all class is on same page .if someone wants to argue on this that is fine. In real sense if we need reservation then it should be on economics basis everyone should file taxes and they should get reservation accordingly with merits .In this way government will get more revenue and on the whole we will have fair justice to everyone (all cast )and this will provide better visibility what is happening to normal families. Now some will debate how we can avoid fraud for reporting low income then hey that is what government should be doing, proving infrastructure and enforcing rule of law other than that government has no business in dictating which cast is upper cast or lower cast.
Now real question pose by the other users here are we better-off here or back home? I think we always indulge in material benefits but there are other aspect of life you cannot put face value on it .What matter is the most are you Happy? What is your ultimate goal of life? What is the most important thing you want to have in your life? What is the most irritating thing you cannot overlook or make you uncomfortable? On top of all these key questions what are tools /resources available to you to address all these likes dislikes. So let us say if you are shooting for quality life then define what must have for that life and to get those you may have to bite bullet and compromise on some of those. If you can find middle ground some where there then we call those people happy people or successful people. So life is about making right choice all the time as per your own situations. When we are in this fine-tuning process we can always use help from our resources, friends, relative, culture, God, Money and our own intellectual.

My best friend (brightest among all of my school friends) in India belonging to Backward class could not study medicine or engineering because he had (no money) to support his family..... so he finished his shortest teaching course and became public school teacher.... He was capable of getting into any medical school without reservation help... and because he belonged to lower cast he was assured in any medical college with the help of reservation.... this reservation system does not work for real lower cast or for people who really need uplifting..... between I could not get into medicine because I was 1 mark short...... I have a unique position. couple of weeks back I was told that have fatal cancer and won't live pass 4-6 months. After recovering from initial shock I am wondering if my wife will be able to continue her american dream or she will have to head home after me.
I have filed 485 with approved 140 back in june, 2007 with PD of March, 2003

I called on friday. Had to explain the lady that as per press-release, my receipt number should be issued. After 20 minutes of discussions, she escalated my call to another officer. She checked the database with my name, DOB and A# but she could not find any thing related to I-485.

I am really surprised that you guys are contemplating on going against your employer for a employment letter and filing your GC. I mean, how hard is it for you guys to agree to the terms of your employer that you will work till you get your GC and upto 6 months beyond that..
If you guys came before 2001-2002 and seen how the situation was for green card filers you will now what I am talking about..
1. There was no concurrent filing of I-140/485
2. There was no premium processing for Labor
3. There was no premium processing for I-140
4. There was no AC-21, so there is no way of switching jobs..
Still it used to take 4-5 years to get a GC.
And you guys are complaining about your employer because you worked for 1-2 years and you want to quit as soon as you get EAD..
Just imagine what would have happened if the dates were not CURRENT.. How many more years you would have worked, cursing USCIS
Your greed will ruin you in future, just like you are cursing your employer's greed..
Also, before you curse your employer, it was you who joined the company and you had many months to find out what kind of employer you have and it quit the company long time back.. You could have switched to different company long time back..
I agree , and if the cost of leaving this stupid employer is just $10K, I would gladly pay and have some peace of mind.
Also don't make decissions based on the current provisions/laws only. It is safe to assume you are going to be with your employer (who filed your GC) until you get your GC. You make a decision assuming that you can use AC21 after 6 months, but what happens if they remove AC21 in two months ??? People got burned when they assume status quo with the laws/provisions and they subsequently change.

Plain and simple question, are you a donor or a volunteer.. if yes.. then you must be aware of
the different initiatives that IV has taken up for EB3, which I guess you are not aware of.
As you don't want to donate or volunteer what makes you think that you can tell IV on what to do and what not to do.. Are you even associated in anyways.
I have never ever seen such a big thankless following of a group. Everyone is in trouble and everyone has problem but cannot donate.
Wanted to write a lot more , but I think its not worth it. I just hope your conscious makes you feel ashamed of this attitude of yours.

I may sound some what negative here but I am not trying to diminish the IV plat form for all the folks here.Yes, it is just "about us" only... what "IV core" did so far is vague....flower campaign and this current FOIA requests started randomly by the individuals thinking collectively.... I don't think it is started by IV core team as an "ACTION" item in the first place.

This is great but not at all enough, If major news and print media does not cover this, than this effort will go waste. If it gets unreported, than we have ourselves to blame. The whole point is for this to get covered nationally. Your local news and print media needs to be made aware, if it gets printed enough times, it will be picked up in major news channels. So please email the story, make the reporters aware of this. I know, we have a lot of us that we can write, copy paste the same message. I have a feeling it is going to make a great news story, just want to be doubly sure.
